To use Robocall Blocker to analyze and block spam texts on an Android device, enable SMS protection.
To enable SMS protection on an Android device:
- Go to "Settings" in the app
- Then go to "Apps," then "Robocall Blocker," then "Permissions"
- Allow "SMS Permission"
You can switch SMS Protection on or off in "Settings."
By using SMS Protection, you authorize Robocall Blocker to transmit for analysis the phone number and full text message of any message you receive from an unknown sender. Your personal information is never attached and messages from known contacts are never sent for analysis.
Robocall Blocker identifies spam texts by matching the phone number with a robocaller database and matching URLs in the body of the text message to a list of suspicious URLs.
If a legitimate text is mistakenly identified as junk, the quickest way to ensure any future texts from this number are allowed through is to add the number as a contact. Any number that's in your contacts will never be blocked by SMS Protection.
