Alerts: High risk transactions
Overview
High risk transaction monitoring goes beyond traditional credit monitoring to alert for suspicious activity related to certain non-credit based transactions — like medical billing, cash advances, and student loan withdrawals. We’ll let you know if we identify someone trying to use your identity in non-credit based transactions. Sometimes, this includes someone trying to answer authentication questions (such as “What county do you live in?”) in an attempt to verify your identity.
What to do if you receive a high risk transaction alert
If you receive a high risk transaction alert:
- Log in to your account
- Click on the alert in your dashboard
- Carefully review all of the details
- If you do not recognize the activity, click “Get support”
If you don’t recognize the activity
If you don’t recognize the activity, select “Get support.” This will tell us that we may need to investigate further. You’re also welcome to give us a call to go over the alert or report suspicious activity. To find the best phone number to call, log in to your account and scroll to the bottom of the page. The phone number you see is customized for your plan so you can get the help you need faster.
